Governance

We are an Academy part of  Leger Education Trust.

Our governing body is made up of members from the local community, including parents, representatives from partnership groups/organisations and staff. The governing body are responsible for overseeing the educational direction of the school to ensure all our students achieve as well as they can.

Governors normally meet twice per term.  All governors are expected to make a formal visit to the school each year to monitor the impact of their decisions and the progress the Headteacher is making towards securing school improvement.

Copies of the minutes of meetings of the governing body are available on request. Please contact the school.

Copies of the Model Funding Agreement are available on request.

Details of governor’s attendance at meetings during the school year are included in the Trustees Annual Report and Finance Statement, which is published each year and included in the Financial information section of this website.

From time to time we have vacancies for parent and community governors.  If you would like to know more about being a governor or would like to be considered as a governor when the next vacancy arises please contact the school to let us know.

The role of the governing body is to ensure clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction; to hold executive leaders to account for the educational performance of the academy and its pupils, and the effective and efficient performance management of staff; and to oversee the financial performance of the academy and making sure its money is well spent. With this in mind, the governors have written their vision statement for our academy'

Governor's Vision Statement

The Governors of Castle Hills wish to create an academy community where children participate, succeed and are proud of their achievement of:

'Being The Best We Can Be'.

As governors, we have a responsibility to guide our children to their futures by:

  • Providing financial accountability by ensuring our resources are responsibly used to support our children's learning.
  • Creating an academy where all children are treated equally to give every child the life chances they deserve no matter what their starting point.
  • Providing an environment which is vibrant, stimulating and creative where they can experience the excitement of learning through access to outstanding teaching.
  • Ensuring all our children have the skills to reach their full potential so that they are prepared for the next stage in their education.
  • Promoting the values of the school into the wider community.
