Welcome to Our New Half Term of Learning!

We have an exciting few weeks ahead, full of new topics and opportunities to grow.

In Maths, we’ll be exploring three important areas:

• Money – learning to recognise coins and notes, make totals, and solve real-life problems.
• Multiplication – building our knowledge of equal groups, arrays, and times tables.
• Length and Height – measuring, comparing, and understanding how we use these skills every day.

In English, we will be diving into our beautiful new text The Proudest Blue by Ibtihaj Muhammad and S. K. Ali. This story follows Asiya on her first day wearing her blue hijab—described as bright and strong like the ocean and the sky. Through this book, we’ll be learning about confidence, identity, and pride.

Our writing this half term will include:

• A character description, using rich vocabulary to describe personalities, feelings, and appearance.
• A persuasive advert, where we will use powerful language and clear reasons to encourage our readers.

In History, we will be discovering the lives of Mary Seacole and Florence Nightingale. We’ll learn who they were, why they are remembered, and how their bravery and compassion helped change healthcare forever.

It’s going to be a wonderful half-term of discovery, creativity and confidence. I can’t wait to begin this learning journey with you all!

Homework is completed and brought in on Thursday. That includes spelling and times-tables.

PE is on a Wednesday, so come to school ready in your PE kit and trainers.
