Welcome back 2/3A. I hope you have had a restful, fun-filled holiday and feel ready and excited to learn.

We are going to dive into our mystical book ‘The Wonder’ where you will explore with the character inside his mind and discover all the wonderful creations he imagines. We will be creating our own fantasy world and explore the depths of our imagination…

Both Year 2 and 3 will begin with place value in maths and will become more confident mathmagicians in reasoning and problem-solving skills, so we can apply what we have learnt to more mastery questions. To follow this, we will use our place value skills to develop our understanding of addition and subtraction.

Year 2 will become historians and explore the importance of the railway through the years and understand the Industrial Revolution and the impact this had on Britain. Choo Choo!

We will delve into our amazing country for geography and explore all the amazing attractions we can visit in the capital cities of the UK.

Year 3 will take an adventure back to the Stone Age to discover how cavemen lived and survived. We will explore three periods of time and understand what life was like. We will explore cool climates and brilliant biomes in geography and become more familiar with our wonderful world.

PE day is: Wednesday – children arrive and stay in their kits.

 Homework is set on Friday and is due on the following Thursday.

Complete 20 minutes per week on Times Tables Rock Star

       Times table and spelling tests will be on a Thursday and results will be sent home.

   Please remember to be part of our ‘In it to Win it’. You must read five times a week, complete your homework on time, have 20 minutes' TTRS, arrive in the correct P.E kit weekly and have an attendance of 96% or above.
