Welcome back to school, everyone! I hope you’ve all enjoyed a fantastic summer holiday filled with thrilling adventures and ample time to unwind. As we embark on a brand-new academic year, I am filled with excitement about the incredible journey we will undertake together!

This year, our curriculum is packed with fascinating topics that promise to ignite your curiosity. We’ll delve into the rich tapestry of local history, exploring the significant events and figures from World War II, focusing keenly on its impact on Doncaster, England, and "the world at large".

Our geography lessons will whisk us away to the Amazing Americas, as we uncover the geographical marvels of the continent, including the awe-inspiring volcanoes and the fascinating processes behind their formation.

In Design and Technology, prepare for a hands-on experience as we get creative, designing and crafting a delicious food dish. This will involve thorough research, innovative product design, and thoughtful evaluation of our creations.

Our class novel this year, ‘Final Year’ by Matt Goodfellow, captures the poignant journey of Nate as he navigates his final year at primary school. With challenges ahead, including tests and the transition to high school, Nate’s story of friendship and resilience is sure to resonate with us all.

Year 6 is an extraordinary time, as we gear up for our SATs—the most significant academic challenge yet! Let’s dive in with enthusiasm and make this year one to remember!

Remember, to make sure you complete your homework on time, read at least five times every week, arrive in the correct PE kit and have an attendance of 96% or above to be in our ‘In It To Win It’!
